It seems in the equine industry many people are trapped in tradition. It has been an enlightening experience to learn that more equestrians are beginning to see horsemanship through a new filter. Emerging into this realm is my personal journey that I would love to share with you…
For many thousands of years horsemanship has been done because humans used horses as a means of transportation, power, source of food and implement of war. Horses have had to adapt into our human world desperately trying to interpret our ways of communicating through force and fear techniques or evaded humans altogether. In recent years, a movement to evolve in the ways we communicate has taken over the equine industry and partnership, mutual trust and compassion for the horse’s mental well being has fueled a different way to train.
If you are wanting a deeper connection with your horse in all things, learning to work with them on a level that they understand then it is more than just techniques. The principles that will guide you along this journey are simple but not easy. Your relationship with your horse is paramount to your safety and success at whatever you do, whether it is trail riding, showing, jumping, rodeo or western performance. What you will learn will only enhance what you already do.
